Early 2021, JOAN Creative asked me to help them put together a little reel of their rebrand of the New York restaurant focused food delivery app, ZUUL. The ZUUL Branding is really playful with strong color palates and a diverse set of type options. It was a great time helping them figure out how it all ought to move and showcasing their design work in this video.
And of course, the audio is crucial the the success of this video, and Buddy Rich shreds (the song is Solo #1 from Toronto, 1977). I had to do a bit of cutting up the audio to get the correct phrasing of drum hits and fills to make sense with the script, but it wasn’t hard. There’s so much variety and unpredictable motion in this solo.
