At the end of 2022, Sony approached me to help create animated content for a Sony Bravia in store video reel showcasing their HDR colour-space technology, IMAX-E and sound for a new line of Bravia TV’s.
The look began from a place of feeling the sounds, with translucent ribbons that catch the light of the display and carry it out toward the viewer. This method was chosen too look both powerful where it needed, but also refined and subtle elsewhere. where the light could fall off and the graphics become invisible The color of these ribbons tied to the content on the screen.
This called for some modeling in 3D of the TV as well as developing a language of graphics to represent the sound and light of their HDR technology. The goal was to show the sensory effect of being wrapped up in this world of film. Of sound and light.
